Charlie Parker Jazz Festival featuring Ron Carter’s Great Big Band and vocalist April May Webb, highlighting a free jazz event in Harlem presented in partnership with Jazzmobile.

About the Event

The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival celebrates the spirit of the late great saxophonist with shows uptown and downtown that highlight the past, present, and future of jazz music in NYC.

Kicking off the festival will be jazz legend Ron Carter and his 17-piece Great Big Band, plus rising star April May Webb, winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition.

All in all, this event is Presented with Jazzmobile in celebration of 60 years of bringing world-class jazz to NYC.

Featuring

Carter’s steady, warm-toned pulse serves as a rhythmic rudder through a set of tunes that exude a refined elegance and sonic power.

Meanwhile, April May Webb, a rising star who recently won the 13th annual Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition; her latest LP with trumpeter Randall Haywood, Questions Left Unanswered, features soulful, jazzy covers of hits like “Jolene” and “Killing Me Softly.”
